Maine State Convention

We just arrived at the hotel and I seriously saw my first Hillary supporters since she has gotten so divisive. They had big buttons and I felt scared. I must be open minded, but I think I will skip the Obama button because I am sure they will be pissed at me too. I want to start out un-judgeable since I am clearly a judgmental bitch.

We basically checked in at the civic center and then went out to dinner at the Senator Hotel.
Turns out it was filled with the Hillary people having some kind of get together. Huge amount of signage from Hillary people. A little spooky. We went to the Obama table and they were having a get together at 8:30 with a “special caller” at 9:00. I’ll catch that later on YouTube.
We just wanted to go out to dinner and revel in hotel room life. The various gatherings looked like all your expectation of conventions. Smelled like scotch and aftershave. People wearing way more pins and buttons than should be allowed on a grown up.
We had a great talk with an older couple who did not know there was a convention. Turns out they were both very political and Obama supporters from Florida. Fun!
Tomorrow is the important vote. I have to guard my credential pass or I will lose my Obama vote.

Slept great, got up early so I could watch news and check out cable TV… All I can say is if I had a choice to talk to someone who gets all their news from CNN, or someone who watches the Daily Show, it is no-contest. Daily Show is smarter.
Our room came with a carb fest breakfast. Managed to find some mildly whole grain bread-toast and butter, and a banana. Brought my own French Roast.
We have to be on the convention floor at 10:00 am, but Obama people are meeting first at 9:00. I am going to bring my lap top so I can check in on the Rule Committee thing on c-span at 9:30.

At the civic center now. The wi-fi is sketchy. I am with the Waldo County Obama Delegates. It is SO crowded the lines on the hi way were so long everything has been pushed forward. We have to drive to a different location to Caucus. Obama delegates were told they could get on the bus that the Hillary people provided, I think. We just found out today that only Hillary delegates will be allowed on the bus. I don’t know the full story, but people are pissed, I think only because they were told this yesterday at check-in and now with all these crowds have to scramble in the rain to car pool. We are all Waldo County Dems, so the caucus should be interesting. I am fine because i expected to drive.
There are a lot of empty seats, probably because of the check in line. I am glad we checked in last night.
